Universal Design for Learning
This second webinar in our series on UDL was facilitated by Dr Anne Ozdowska, IDEATE program researcher, on 19 May 2026. The speakers are Thea Koutsoukis (University of Queensland), Charles Martin (ANU) and Aaron Saint-James (UNSW). The discussion includes practical ways to make computing and software engineering courses more accessible to all students, reducing their need to ask for adjustments and increasing the quality of their learning experience and retention rates for courses. The Diversified toolkit Aaron mentions is online, as well as the Simplifii app that he is developing.
This first webinar in our series with Dr Anne Ozdowska, IDEATE program researcher, was held on 10 March 2026 with around 50 participants. It provides an introduction to universal design for accessibility and inclusion in tech courses like computer science and software engineering, and practical advice to implement this in your own courses.
